Do I Qualify?
All patients with a BMI above 30 are considered candidates. Generally in the United States, surgical candidates possessing a BMI of 40 and above or 35 with 2 co-morbidities such as diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnea. Most other countries already have clinical results for patients with BMI's between 30 - 35. All patients that stand to benefit should be considered for surgical treatment. Other factors, such as the number and severity of co morbidities, general health and well being are also evaluated.
